Head Coach: Jeff Brohm is entering his 3rd season as the head coach of the Cardinals with a 19-8 record. He’s a Louisville alum and much beloved here, it certainly helps that he keeps winning. He already has an ACC championship appearance and finally end Louisville’s losing streak in the Governor’s Cup. Now he’s looking to take the next step in making the Cards a contender.

Program Outlook: Louisville well positioned in a city that has a pretty big population but not a big enough one to have a pro team. As a result this program has this entire market to itself and the entire city supports the program well. There’s been a lot of ups and downs on the field throughout history, many legends have passed through such as Johnny Unitas, Lee Corso and of course Lamar Jackson. Louisville is still searching for an ACC title and with Jeff Brohm it feels like they’ll get there soon. Louisville record wise is one of the best programs since 2014 to not reach the playoff yet so they’re knocking on the doorstep.

How does the 2025 Roster look?: Louisville ranks 50th in the country returning 58.5% of their production per Punt and Rally’s returning production rankings. Key players for Louisville include USC transfer QB Miller Moss, RBs Isaac Brown/Duke Watson, receivers Chris Bell and Caullin Lacy who will be extremely dangerous if he can finally stay healthy. Moss ironically came onto the scene against Louisville in the Holiday bowl just a couple years back it’s clear Brohm liked what he saw in him because he wasted no time getting Moss from the portal, I really like his potential in this offense. On the defensive side they get linebacker combo TJ Quinn and Stanquan Clark back, Quinn is a tackling machine and Clark has the upside to be a star. Louisville’s biggest question marks will be how will the new pieces gell on the offensive line and secondary. The secondary in particular is fascinating, they had lots of talent but when teams got completions it was disaster for Louisville defensively and now they’re fielding almost an entirely new group there.

2025 Schedule Thoughts: In short, this is a nice schedule for Louisville. They have 8 home games and the road games are spread out nicely. The Non-conference may feature James Madison as their toughest game, don’t overlook the Dukes. Rival Kentucky is down but shouldn’t be overlooked. Bowling Green is replacing a lot but has Eddie George as their coach. Eastern Kentucky is a nice in-state game, the Colonels reached the FCS playoffs last season but Louisville can handle them. Clemson is one of those 8 home games and is by far the biggest challenge on the slate but we know Brohm can get his teams up for big games, watch for that one. Getting the road game at Pitt in September is a better benefit for Louisville than you’d expect, don’t forget 2 years ago when Louisville handed them one of their 3 wins in absolutely terrible weather. Virginia Tech, Miami FL and SMU do have the makings of tough but not impossible road games. Overall this schedule does not impede Louisville’s chances of winning the ACC.

Final Thoughts: Louisville will need to do some work on the road to reach the ACC championship but with a few answers to some of their question marks they can absolutely do it. This schedule has so many winnable games that anything below 8 wins would be an extreme disappointment.
